The infamous covered pitch at Forsyth Barr Stadium will be open to the community this Sunday (4 November) to enjoy and use as they would their local park.
Dunedin Venues, CEO, Darren Burden comments, “We want to see as many families as possible enjoying this rare opportunity to get up close and personal with our turf. We’ll have soccer goals in place from the earlier Otago United game, so people can bring along a ball and have a kick or just bring a picnic blanket and camera and enjoy the view.”
Admission to the pitch is free and available between 2:30pm and 4pm following the Otago United match at 12 noon. Carparking is available in the Stadium carpark for a gold coin donation and access onto the pitch is through Gate D, TicketDirect Stand.
For this Sunday only, the Stadium markets will be extended until 4pm.
In the lead up to the 2012 ITM Cup Season, new prices and a new ticketing structure have been released covering Otago’s five games at their new home fortress, Forsyth Barr Stadium.
The Otago team, playing under the motto of ‘New Season, New Belief’, host five matches in front of a home crowd, against Northland, North Harbour, Tasman, Wellington and Auckland.
Season ticket prices have been set at $80 for adults, $20 for children, $160 for a family*, and $50 for students- essentially getting tickets to all five matches for the price of four.
Another change for the upcoming season is the introduction of single price seating, by tickets priced the same across all zones in the Stadium, encouraging early bird purchases with the best seats in the house going to those that buy their tickets first.
Richard Kinley, General Manager ORFU, commented, “There is a lot of excitement within the squad as we approach this season and a real feeling of pride from within the team to be wearing the Golden O on their chest. We are confident, that with ticket prices set at an affordable price and with the calibre of opposition faced at home, our loyal Otago Rugby supporters will be here at the Stadium cheering our Southern men on week in and week out”.
Tickets are available at the Forsyth Barr Stadium box office, 0800 224 224 or at any TicketDirect outlet nationwide
